Questions, Answered Honestly
What is Friends of Abuja?
Friends of Abuja is a new, independent business networking initiative connecting Abuja with professionals, businesses, investors, institutions, diaspora and friends of the city worldwide. It is operated by AbujaCity.com.
Is Friends of Abuja an official or government organisation?
Friends of Abuja is an independent, private-sector-led business networking initiative dedicated to connecting Abuja with opportunities locally and internationally.
While not a government agency, Friends of Abuja maintains relationships across Abuja’s business and professional communities and actively develops strategic collaborations with influential business leaders, entrepreneurs, industry stakeholders and key decision-makers.
Our independence allows us to bring together people, businesses and institutions to foster meaningful partnerships, encourage investment, promote Abuja internationally and contribute to the city's economic growth.
Is the network already up and running?
We’re new. We’re building the founding network now, and there are no regular events or local chapters yet. Early enquiries help decide what we start first.
How much does membership cost?
There are no published fees yet. Professional, Business and Corporate Partner options are still being designed, and we’ll share the details with you before anything is charged.
Do you have chapters in other cities?
Not yet. Abuja is our home city, and we’re building connections with Abuja’s friends and diaspora in Houston, Atlanta, London, New York, Washington DC and Baltimore. No local hubs operate there yet. If you’re based in one of these cities, you can help start one.
What happens after I send an inquiry?
Your message is emailed to the Friends of Abuja team and a person reads it and replies. We can’t promise introductions, investment or deals. We only add you to our newsletter if you tick the newsletter box.
